Je m’appelle Luc Masson-Todeschini et je suis n\u00e9 \u00e0 Longwy en Lorraine. Je suis ing\u00e9nieur informatique. J\u2019ai commenc\u00e9 la photo \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge de 7 ans et j\u2019en ai maintenant 41. J\u2019ai essay\u00e9 diff\u00e9rents supports et formats depuis tout ce temps et j\u2019ai gard\u00e9 un souvenir agr\u00e9able de mon premier appareil instantan\u00e9, un polaroid 635 CL. Je ne l\u2019ai pas beaucoup utilis\u00e9 \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque car les films \u00e9taient assez chers, mais j\u2019ai gard\u00e9 le souvenir de cette magie d\u2019avoir sa photo tout de suite et de la voir se d\u00e9velopper sous ses yeux.
J\u2019ai grandi avec un reflex 35mm en \u00e9tant le photographe de la famille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2000 j\u2019ai pris le virage du num\u00e9rique comme beaucoup, mais en 2012 j\u2019ai eu envie d\u2019autre chose. J\u2019ai repens\u00e9 \u00e0 mon vieux pola qui tra\u00eenait chez mes parents mais je d\u00e9couvris avec tristesse que Polaroid avait stopp\u00e9 sa production en 2008. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 Polaroid-Passion<\/a> j\u2019appris l\u2019existence d\u2019Impossible Project qui a repris la production. J\u2019ai donc command\u00e9 mes premiers packs de films et je n\u2019ai plus arr\u00eat\u00e9 depuis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En tant que photographe, je dirais que je suis un touche-\u00e0-tout, sans ligne directrice ni gimmick photographique, libre de traiter tous les sujets.
J\u2019ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de retourner \u00e0 la photographie instantan\u00e9e pour changer d\u2019approche. En photo num\u00e9rique, la tentation d\u2019appuyer sur le d\u00e9clencheur et faire sa s\u00e9lection a posteriori du meilleur clich\u00e9 est grande. Avec la photo instantan\u00e9e il faut penser son clich\u00e9 et saisir l\u2019instant au meilleur moment. De plus cela donne une essence physique \u00e0 une image au lieu de stocker des fichiers qu\u2019on ne regarde jamais.
J\u2019ai une relation charnelle \u00e0 toutes mes images, je les sors souvent de leurs boites pour me rem\u00e9morer l\u2019instant. Le temps est une notion changeante et intangible, la photo instantan\u00e9e permet de lui donner un v\u00e9ritable sens physique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My name is Luc Masson Todeschini, I was born in Longwy, north east of France. I am currently an engineer in computers. I started photography at age of 7 and I am now almost 41. I tried a lot of support and format, and as a kid I experienced Instant film with a 636CL Camera.What a pleasure to have a photograph right after having shot it\u2026 I did not use it a lot, cartridges were pricey and my family was not very wealthy. I grew up with 35mm reflex camera, as photographer of the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passing from 35mm to digital in 2000\u2019s years, in 2012, quite tired of the result I thought to my Instant camera. I asked my mum if the camera was still there and she said so. I discovered Polaroid stopped production but a crazy company restarted it on Polaroid-Passion<\/a>. Ordered my first film in September and started shooting with this all new support. Never stopped since then!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a photographer, I would say I am a touche \u00e0 tout. I have no guidelines, and no attach to photographical gimmick. I consider that I don\u2019t want to be a prisoner of a specific style. I decided to go back to instant photo to have a different approach. On the digital side, I think we are to inclined to push the shutter button and then make a selection. With instant film, it push me to think about everything before pushing the shutter. Furthermore, it gives a physical existence to image instead of storing digital file you never look at.
I have a relationship to all my images, and sometimes I take them off their boxes, and look at them, remembering the moment.Time is something changing, intangible, with a physical image I give a physical sense to that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
